What Would Have Been
One day in Heaven, a little boy and girl,
Sat with Jesus; talking and laughing so merrily.
After a while, the little boy asked Jesus,
“On earth, what was I created to be?”
Jesus replied softly, “My precious child,
You would have been a world renown musician,
Playing beautiful music to thousands.
Glorifying the Father in Heaven.”
Jesus scooped the little girl into his arms,
And said, “You were going to be a wife, mother, and doctor,
You would save hundreds of lives,
You would have also led many to my Father.”
“But Jesus,” the little boy cried out,
“Our mothers did not want us; why?”
Jesus replied,“I created mankind to have a free will,
Sadly, they were deceived, that is why.”
Jesus continued, “There is forgiveness,
For everyone, if they come to me.
I will wipe away the tears and wash their sins away,
And I will love them for all eternity.”
