THE FEEDING OF THE 5000
One day Jesus took a boat out,
To be alone with His Father to pray.
Crowds of people heard this, and they followed Him on foot,
For they wanted to hear what this man had to say.
When Jesus looked up and saw the multitudes gather,
His heart was full of compassion for everyone there.
Jesus took the time to talk with them,
And He healed their sick, to show He cared.
Evening came, and the people were hungry,
The disciples thought the people could go
And find food for them and their families.
But Jesus told the disciples, “No.”
“Bring what you have,” Jesus continued,
And so they gave Him two fish, and five loaves of bread.
The people sat down, and Jesus prayed over the food,
There were twelve baskets of leftovers, after everyone was fed.
