“And I will lead the blind in a way that they do not
know, in paths that they have not known I will guide
them. I will turn the darkness before them into light,
the rough places into level ground. These are the
things I do, and I do not forsake them.”
Isaiah 42:16 ESV
In 1990 a song by Don Moen came out called
God Will Make a Way. Some of the lyrics are as
follows: God will make a way/Where there seems
to be no way/He works in ways we can not see/
He will make a way for me./ He will be my guide/
Hold me closely to His side/With love and strength
for each new day/He will make a way/He will make
a way…..
It seems the past month or so, my children have
carried some pretty heavy burdens. I know people
everywhere have something going on in their lives.
That is why this song always comes to mind, when I
am praying for this child or that person, because the
words are so true. God does make ways we can not
see, and He will make a way for them, for you, and
me.
As parents of grown children, sometimes we
are asked not to disclose anything we have been
told, by this child or that one. Sometimes the burden
is very heavy. I am an emotional person, and all my
kids know mom will always cry, whether it is good
news or not so good news. They also know both
mom and dad will be praying for them and the
situation they confided us in.
There are times I wish my kids were little, and I
could pick them up and just kiss away their boo-
boo, and make it all better again. When they
leave the house, and start their owns lives, as
parents, we have to release them into God’s hands.
He gave them to us for a short while, and now they
are His. We are still parents to them, but our roles
have changed. I think this is especially hard for
mothers.
Nevertheless, we are here when they need us.
We pray that the things we taught them, will follow
them wherever they may go.
Perhaps you are going through a dark time. Re-
member God will make a way for you. Ask someone
to pray with you and I would suggest to read in
the book of Psalm in God’s Holy Word. There is such
comforting verses in this particular book. King
David wrote a lot of chapters in Psalm. I found a verse
in Psalm 28, verse 7, David wrote: The Lord is my
strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and
I am helped.
Sometimes we have to go through things that will
in the end, make us stronger and closer to the Lord.
In closing, I leave this verse from 1 Peter 5:10 ESV:
“And after you have suffered a little while, the God
of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory
in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and
establish you.”
