JUNE 2026

..O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay,

you are the potter; we are all the work of your

hand. Isaiah 64:8 NIV

Cheers! It’s hard to believe it is June already. I

hope all who read this is doing well, and if

you are not, please know you have a Heavenly

Father who loves you, if you only reach out to

Him.

This month in America, we celebrate Father’s

Day. My dad died back in 1986, at the age of

fifty-three. He and my mother came to visit on

Father’s Day weekend, that year. He lived long

enough to see his first two grandsons. No one

knew that Father’s Day, would be his last Father’s

Day, here on earth.

I loved my dad with all my heart. He was a strict

father on the outside. Inside however, he was a

soft marshmallow. Though, he did not disclose that

to everyone. He gave his life to Christ in his forties.

Together, he and I became members of our church

one Sunday morning.

In the house I grew up in, when I came down from

upstairs, off to my left was the dining room. There

was a painting of Jesus on the far wall of that room.

It was centered above the desk. As a little girl, I

related that picture to God, the Father; His face

was stern. I realized some years later, that I viewed

Jesus as my friend, but I looked at God as a strict,

stern Father who was always disappointed in me.

I asked God to forgive me for viewing Him in such

a harsh and wrong way. I realized that I was

looking at Him the way I perceived my dad to be.

Have you viewed our Heavenly Father in a way

that is totally wrong, or even partly wrong? If

so, just ask Him to forgive you. He will. Through His

Son Jesus, He will cleanse us from our sins and

when we invite Him into our heart, He will walk

with us always.

I could not imagine my life without God. We live

in such a dark world; we need to be light out

there, and we need the hope in our hearts to

get us going out in that dark world to bring the

hope and light to those who can not find their way.

Have a great month!

In Christ, Pamela Depew
